After Sunday night’s playoff-winning victory over the Atlanta Falcons, safety Jeremy Reaves of the Washington Commanders got down on one knee and proposed to his fiancée.
Reaves made sure there were double celebrations in Washington after the Commanders’ first postseason berth since 2020 was secured with a crucial 30-24 overtime victory. On the sidelines, he proposed to partner Mikaela Worley.
As the onlookers celebrated their engagement, a visibly emotional Mikaela joined her NFL star fiancé down on one knee and accepted his proposal, resulting in happy scenes.
Naturally, she said “yes!” “Now you’re in the playoffs,” Mike Tirico of NBC stated.
Before heading down the tunnel, Reaves’ colleagues were ecstatic about their good friend and his now-fiancee, who was later spotted hugging Commanders punter Tress Way and flashing her ring.
After initially coming public in the summer of 2023, Jeremy and Mikaela, a Florida physician assistant, have been dating for about 18 months.
Throughout their relationship, she has frequently attended his NFL games both at home and on the road; most recently, she traveled 2,500 miles to see him play in New Orleans.
Reaves, 28, was promoted to the Commanders’ active roster in 2019 and is presently in his sixth season with the team.
He has made 60 appearances overall, recorded 126 tackles, and was named a First-team All-Pro and Pro-Bowler in 2022.
The former South Alabama standout was dismissed shortly after the Philadelphia Eagles selected him as a free agency in 2018.
